計算式

OAS Monthly = Max OAS x (Years in Canada / 40) OAS Clawback = (Income - $90,997) x 15% GIS = Max GIS - (Other Income / 2 / 12)

OAS is prorated based on years of Canadian residence after age 18, up to 40 years for a full pension. A recovery tax (clawback) of 15% applies on income above $90,997. GIS is income-tested: for every $2 of other income (excluding OAS), GIS is reduced by $1.

よくある質問

How much OAS will I receive in 2026?

The maximum monthly OAS pension for Q1 2026 is $713.34 for seniors aged 65 to 74 and $727.67 for those 75 and older. If you have less than 40 years of Canadian residence after age 18, you receive a proportional amount. For example, 30 years of residence gives you 75% of the maximum.

What is the OAS clawback threshold for 2025?

The OAS recovery tax applies when your net income exceeds $90,997. For every dollar above this threshold, you repay 15 cents. For a senior aged 65 to 74 receiving the full OAS pension of $713.34/month, benefits are fully clawed back at approximately $148,451 of net income.

How much GIS can a single senior receive?

A single, widowed, or divorced senior can receive up to $1,086.88 per month in GIS for 2025. This amount decreases as your annual income (excluding OAS) increases. At approximately $22,056 of other annual income, GIS reaches zero for single recipients.

Is OAS taxable in Canada?

Yes, OAS pension payments are taxable income. You can request that tax be deducted at source from your OAS payments. However, the Guaranteed Income Supplement is completely non-taxable and does not need to be reported as income.

Can married couples both receive GIS?

Yes. Each spouse in a married or common-law couple can receive GIS, up to $654.23 per month each when both are receiving OAS. The GIS amount is calculated based on the couple combined income. The reduction rate is $1 for every $4 of combined income for couples.

Should I defer my OAS pension?

You can defer OAS for up to 60 months past age 65. Each month of deferral increases your pension by 0.6%, for a maximum increase of 36% at age 70. Deferral is beneficial if you have other retirement income and expect to live past approximately 81. However, you cannot receive GIS while deferring OAS.

Do I need to apply for OAS?

In many cases, Service Canada automatically enrolls you for OAS. You will receive a notification letter the month after you turn 64. If you do not receive this letter, you should apply at least 6 months before you turn 65 using Form ISP-3000 or through My Service Canada Account online.
