Category FAQ

How is GPA calculated on a 4.0 scale?

Multiply each course grade point by its credit hours, sum the products, then divide by total credit hours. An A in a 3-credit class (4.0 times 3 = 12.0) plus a B in a 4-credit class (3.0 times 4 = 12.0) gives 24.0 / 7 = 3.43 GPA.

What grade do I need on the final to get an A?

Subtract the points already earned from your target, then divide by the final exam weight. If you have 80 percent going in and the final counts for 30 percent, you need (90 minus 0.7 times 80) divided by 0.3, which works out to about 113 percent. Use the final grade calculator to test realistic scenarios.

What is the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA?

Unweighted GPA caps at 4.0 and treats every course equally. Weighted GPA adds 0.5 or 1.0 for honors and AP classes, often capping at 5.0, to recognize harder coursework on transcripts.

How is CGPA different from GPA?

GPA usually refers to a single semester. CGPA is the cumulative average across every semester completed so far, weighted by credit hours.

How long does it take to read 100 pages?

At an average reading speed of 250 words per minute and roughly 300 words per page, 100 pages takes about 2 hours of focused reading. Use the pages to reading time calculator to factor in your own pace.
