Most universities and colleges require a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for exams. Some institutions set higher thresholds of 80% or 85%. For 100 total classes with a 75% requirement, you can miss up to 25 classes. The formula is: Maximum Absences = Total Classes - (Total Classes x Required Percentage / 100). This calculator dynamically updates as you enter your actual numbers and upcoming class count to give you a precise answer.

If your attendance is below the required percentage, you need to attend consecutive classes without missing any. The number of classes needed depends on how far below the threshold you are. For example, if you have 60% attendance with 75% required, and 50 classes held, you need to attend approximately 30 more consecutive classes to reach 75% (assuming no more absences).

In many institutions, attendance directly affects grades. Some schools deduct 1 to 5% from the final grade per unexcused absence. Others bar students from final exams if attendance falls below the minimum. Research shows a strong correlation between attendance and academic performance: students with 90%+ attendance typically score 10 to 15% higher than those with 70% attendance.
