How do I add 19% MwSt to a price?

Multiply the net price by 1.19. €100 net plus 19% MwSt equals €119. To find the MwSt in a Brutto price, multiply by 19 and divide by 119.

What is the reduced VAT rate in Germany?

7% applies to most food, books, magazines, and public transport tickets. Restaurant meals consumed on-site usually attract the standard 19% rate.

When did the German VAT rate change last?

Germany temporarily reduced VAT to 16% in late 2020 due to COVID. The standard 19% rate has been in place since 1 January 2007.
