割引とは、商品やサービスの元の価格を、設定されたパーセンテージまたは固定額だけ引き下げるものです。パーセンテージ割引が最も一般的で、元の価格に割引率を掛けることで割引額が求められます。複数割引（例：20%オフの後にさらに10%オフ）は合計で30%オフにはならず、各割引はすでに割引された価格に順次適用されます。
- 80ドルに対する25%割引：割引額 = $80 x 0.25 = $20、最終価格 = $60
- 15%割引を2回適用しても30%オフにはならず、合計でおよそ27.75%オフになります。
- 元の価格を求めるには：元の価格 = セール価格 / (1 - 割引率)
- 1つ購入でもう1つ無料（BOGO）は、2つの商品を購入する場合、実質的に50%割引に相当します。
