Formula

Each event raw input mapped to 0-100 scoreTotal = MDL + SPT + HRPU + SDC + Plank + RunMax composite = 600 (100 per event)Minimum passing = 360 (60 per event)

United States FAQs

What are the 6 ACFT events?

1) 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL), 2) Standing Power Throw (SPT), 3) Hand-Release Push-Ups (HRP), 4) Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), 5) Plank (PLK), 6) 2-Mile Run (2MR). Events are performed in this order with prescribed rest intervals.

What is a passing ACFT score?

Minimum 60 points per event (360 total out of 600). Scoring standards vary by age group and gender. Failing any single event below 60 points means failing the entire test, even if total points exceed 360.

How often is the ACFT administered?

Soldiers must take a record ACFT at least twice per year. Commanders may administer diagnostic (non-record) tests more frequently for training purposes. Soldiers who fail have specific timeframes to retest.

Did the ACFT replace the APFT?

Yes. The ACFT officially replaced the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) on October 1, 2022. The APFT had only 3 events (push-ups, sit-ups, 2-mile run) and was used since 1980.

What is a good ACFT score?

Above 500 is considered excellent. 450-500 is very good. 360-450 is passing. The average across the Army is approximately 420-440. A perfect 600 is rare and requires elite performance across all six events.

Are ACFT standards the same for all soldiers?

Minimum passing (60 per event) is the same for all. However, maximum scoring tables differ by age group and gender, allowing older soldiers and female soldiers to achieve 100 points at adjusted performance levels.
